Alita Powell
Alita Powell fell in love with performing when she was six years old right here on Whitehorse, Yukon's Yukon Arts Center Stage. She grew up dancing at Leaping Feats and for over 20 years has been training and performing across Canada, the U.S., and Europe, as a dancer and actor in a variety of styles and disciplines. (Tap and Musical Theatre are her favourites!)
Alita is a graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts where she received the 2015 and 2016 Outstanding Achievement in Dance Awards, attended Decidedly Jazz Danceworks' Professional Training Program, and in 2017 toured across Western Canada, in the musical The Dream Catchers,
with the Confederation Centre of the Arts' Young Company. Over the past few years while abroad, Alita has trained and competed with Spanish Hip-Hop groups, and taught English through theatre and performance in both Italy and Spain!
Alita has been teaching dance for over a decade to dancers ranging from 18 months to 18 years old - with the goal always being to have FUN and leave the studio smiling!
