2025-2026 Dance Season Registration Information
Updated timeline for registration:
Dancer placement communication: May 26th
Updated 2025-2026 schedule posted by: May 28th
Registration for Returning Students: June 1st at 8am
Registration for New Students: June 15th at 8am
Class Recommendations:
Recommendations will be provided by email by May 26th. Please register your dancer in classes that align with these recommendations to ensure students and staff are well supported throughout the dance season.
If you have questions regarding dancer placements please contact:
Jennifer Kosmenko-Eastland at RADballet@nlsdyukon.com for Ballet, First Steps, and Primary dance.
Marcy Mills at stagedance@nlsdyukon.com for all other classes. Any emails sent after 5pm on May 29th are not guaranteed to be answered prior to registration.
Programs
Recreational dance and the Intensive Dance Programs: The website will be updated to accurately communicate these programs for the upcoming year by May 28th.
Intensive Dance Program
Intensive dancers must have received a recommendation from NLSD staff to enter the intensive program. There will be an information meeting for dancers and their families who have been recommended for the program on May 29th at 6pm at the studio to answer questions and provide additional information if you are new to this program. For inquiries or questions regarding the Intensive Dance Program please attend the meeting.
Travel and Competition Dance
Opportunities for dancers who are recommended based on established criteria for the 2025-2026 season will be communicated at a later date by the Stage Dance Director. These opportunities will emphasize teamwork and a serious level of commitment. An information meeting will be held for dancers and families and additional information will be provided at a later date.
Rehearsal Schedules and Information
Year-end shows, Nutcracker, Prince George (PG), and RAD Ballet Exam rehearsal schedules will be posted here and emailed out weekly.
Dancers only attend any rehearsal time slots applicable to them, their class, or group.
What Should I Pack In My Dance Bag?
The following are items we recommend dancers pack in their dance bag:
• All required dance shoes (please label - no matter how old you are!)
• Appropriate dance attire (tights, leotard, shorts, leggings etc.) according to our Dress Code
• Warm up clothing (sweatpants, sweater)
• Reusable water bottle
• Body deodorant
• Hair supplies: elastics, bun pins, bobby pins, clips, hair net, brush, comb, etc.
• Safety pins (various sizes)
• Clear nail polish (for runs in tights and fraying ribbons)
• Sewing supplies: scissors, needle and thread
• Pointe supplies (ages 12+): toe tape, toe spacers, ouch pouches, lamb’s wool, second skin, etc.
• Notebook and pen
• Small First Aid Kit: Band-Aids, hand sanitizer, instant ice pack, alcohol wipes etc.
• Personal sanitary products
*Food is ONLY permitted in the hall, NOT studio A or B*
How to prepare for your classes!
Our regular scheduled full-term classes, and classes offered during Term 1, begin the week of September 3, 2024 at our studio located in Porter Creek at 27 – 14th Avenue (behind The Guild). Before attending your first class, please read over our Welcome Package and Studio Dress Code below, as well as "Important Dates" and "What Should I Pack In My Dance Bag" so you are prepared for the season!
